Kusadası is a resort town on Turkey’s western Aegean coast. This is where i find myself, as its my jumping-off point for visiting the classical ruins at nearby Ephesus. The area has been a center of art and culture since some of the earliest recorded history, and has been settled by many civilizations in its long history. Kusadası has a pleasant seafront vista, looking out over the Aegean. With numerous bars and restaurants.

Just offshore on Pigeon Island is a walled Byzantine castle that once guarded the town, now being converted into a visitor center/museum.

First port of call this morning is a stroll around the town of KUSADASI. Picturesque streets and the unusual "Peace" sculpture located in front of a beautiful beach are some of the things to marvel at, in this port town.

The Temple of Artemis.

The Temple of Artemis is known as one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world. It Was been built in Ephesus, on a flat area which has over the centuries turned into a swamp. When you visit Ephesus today, you can only see the ruins of the foundations, and a single column of this marvelous Hellenistic construction. Unfortunately the most beautiful remaining parts of this temple are today exhibited in the London British Museum.
